What the Saab 9-3 Looks Like After More Than 400,000 Kilometers

Experience the Longevity of the 2008 Saab 9-3 TiD with Over 400,000 Kms on Sale in the Netherlands

The 2008 Saab 9-3 SportWagon 1.9 TiD, a beautiful and stylish sports station wagon, has recently been advertised for sale in the Netherlands by its owner, Gijs Marree. The vehicle, which was constructed in 2008, has been driven for over 400,000 kilometers, making it an impressive and reliable option for those in the market for a used car.

Despite its high mileage, the interior of the Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD is in excellent condition. The seats, for example, show only minimal signs of wear and tear along the edges, which is typical of a vehicle that has been well-cared for. The rear seats of the car appear to be completely new and in pristine condition, with no signs of wear or damage. The buttons, controls, and steering wheel leather are all in excellent condition, with no signs of wear or fading.

Fairly good quality of the Saab interior, despite the criticism

As you can see in the pictures, there are hardly any signs of use: the seats show signs of use only on the edges, where they are most often worn when getting in and out of the vehicle. There is also no wear in the rest of the interior, for example the buttons on the dashboard and other controls, the steering wheel leather is a little worn – but not too much.

While some have criticized Saab for using cheaper materials in the interior of their vehicles, such as hard plastic, in practice, the interior of the Saab 9-3 TiD serves its purpose well. The only noticeable issue with the interior is a slight creaking of the hard plastic, which is mostly negligible and does not impact the overall quality of the vehicle.

Mileage “Reset”

It’s worth noting that some car dealers often buy used Saab vehicles with high mileage, then “reset” the odometer to make it appear as if the vehicle has traveled fewer miles. This unethical practice allows them to sell the vehicle for a much higher price than its actual value.

The mileage display shows 403,000 kilometers, which is rarely seen on any car, not only on Saabs.

This fact is used by many car dealers, who buy such vehicles and then artificially “remove” the mileage on the vehicle’s computer, so they sell such a car with “supposedly” 150,000 or 200,000 kilometers for almost double the price.

If your Saab is much more worn, your odometer reads, for example, 170,000 km and you purchased a used Saab – then it is possible that the car has traveled at least twice as much.

  • Very nice but it’s a shame that people are commenting that parts are difficult to obtain. I’m sure though that I read an article about SAAB setting up a company dedicated to supplying parts is this still the case?
