The Superswedes

In 1980, Saab made a promotional film “The Super Swedes” with tennis star Björn Borg and rally champion Stig Blomqvist.

In this promo film Björn Borg teaches Stig Blomqvist tennis, and Blomqvist instructs Borg in the secrets of rally driving.

Björn admitted afterwards that it was for him one of the most stressful experiences.

Although, Borghas proven to be much better at rally driving than his colleague Stig on the tennis court :)

  • The last SAAB build like a SAAB. Next came the FIATs then the Opels and finally a badge engineered Subaru.
    Imagine if SAAB had teamed up with Subaru to begin with. Two rather excentric automakers. Could have ended really bad. And perhaps not?

  • What did the second vent go to on the early 900s hood? Seems like it would just leak water onto the brake master in the rain. Never seen one in person
