In 1986, Televerket Radio and Saab equipped a Saab 9000 Turbo taxi with an extraordinary collection of communications technology: a mobile phone, taxi radio, pager, television and VHS video system. Period Swedish magazine photographs show taxi owner Hans Nilsson demonstrating the equipment in Karlstad, while rear-seat passengers could even watch video tapes on longer journeys.
