A modified 1984 Saab 99 failed to sell at $23,500 and then lost its post-auction bidder. Five weeks later, the same 2.1-liter 16-valve turbo build returned to Bring a Trailer without reserve and sold for $27,000.
A 24-years-owned Monte Carlo Yellow Saab 900 SE Turbo Convertible reached $14,000 on Bring a Trailer on June 17 but did not meet reserve. On the same day, a restored 1979 Saab 99 Turbo sold in Sweden for 236,000 SEK. Both cars have genuine collector credentials. The market, however, treated them very differently and the reasons tell you something real about where Saab values sit right now.
