The SCN Jongerencommissie is back with its annual drive. This year: 120 kilometers of Dutch river country, a museum start, and a barbecue finish in Horssen.

If your calendar is still looking thin for late June, Saab Club Nederland just fixed that. The SCN Jongerencommissie has announced the 2026 Maas & Waal rit for Saturday, June 27 — and despite being organised by the youth committee, this one is open to every SCN member.

The format is exactly what a good club day should be: a proper start location, a route worth driving, and a reason to stick around afterwards.

Start at the Metropole Museum, Druten

The day kicks off at the Metropole Museum in Druten (Meubellaan 1, 6651 KV). Participants are welcome from 10:00, with coffee and drinks on the Saab Club’s tab. If you’ve never been — the museum is worth arriving early for. Think of it as an appetiser before the main course.

Gathering for the drive starts at 12:00. The route departs at 13:00 sharp.

The Route

About 120 kilometres through the Land van Maas en Waal, navigated by route book or GPX file. The organisers have put thought into this one: dikes, fortified towns, castles, coffee stops, and lunch breaks are all built into the planning. This is not a parade lap. It’s a proper drive through a part of the Netherlands that genuinely rewards slow, attentive driving.

Arrival at the endpoint in Horssen is expected between 17:00 and 18:00.

Barbecue in Horssen

At 17:45, the barbecue fires up. After 120 kilometres of dijken and détours, it’s exactly the right way to close the day.

For Dutch Saab owners, this is the kind of event that keeps club life alive between larger national meetings. For observers outside the Netherlands, it is another reminder that the Saab community is still strongest where the format stays simple: a clear road, a good meeting point, and enough time at the end of the day for owners to compare cars, repairs, parts, memories, and future plans.
