The recent NEVS auction in Trollhättan did not end when the last item changed hands. In many ways, the more interesting part began afterward, when the concrete cars, model cars and memorabilia started leaving the former Saab environment and heading into private garages, workshops and living rooms.
NEVS has now shared a short but telling follow-up, thanking the Saab enthusiasts who came to Trollhättan for the event. The company described how some of the model and concrete cars are now on their way to what one visitor called “the best place in the living room.” For a normal car company, that might sound like a joke. In the Saab world, it makes perfect sense.
These objects are not ordinary decoration. They carry the weight of a place. Trollhättan remains the emotional center of the Saab story, even years after series production ended. A small model car marked “Made in Trollhättan” can therefore mean far more to an owner than its material value suggests.
According to NEVS, visitors came from both nearby and far away. The longest trip mentioned was made by an enthusiast from Michigan, while guests from Turkey, Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands were also present. That international mix says a lot about the strange durability of Saab loyalty. The cars are scattered around the world, but Trollhättan still pulls people back.
One detail from the day stands out especially strongly. NEVS mentioned a couple who left Stockholm in their Saab the evening before and arrived outside the gates at around 3:00 in the morning, simply to make sure they would not miss the event. That is not casual interest. That is the kind of commitment that has kept Saab culture alive long after the factory stopped building new cars under the Saab name.
NEVS also noted that Nina Selander had the opportunity to speak with many visitors during the day. For enthusiasts, that direct contact matters. The auction was not only about buying objects; it was also a rare chance to connect with people still tied to the final chapters of the Saab and NEVS story in Trollhättan.
The images shared after the event capture that feeling well. One shows a yellow stylized Saab model sitting in a black display box marked “Made in Trollhättan.” Another places concrete and painted model cars in front of a Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4, creating a simple but effective link between the physical cars, the objects from the auction and the community that still protects the memory.

Not so many, had been invited to come to SAAB Training Trollhàttan. It was a wonderful meet of technical interested Enthusiasts, who no-one of them heard early rumors, what should happen to Lehmann Brothers and Chapter 11 Umbrella , just half a year later, at September 15th. And everything else what we no can easily reflect, about the next 5 ½ year’s to come plus, after September 2008.
