Saab 900 T16S (Aero/SPG) Original Designer Sketches

A few years ago, I tracked down the original designer for the Saab 900 T16S bodywork for my book “ICON”.  I was fortunate enough that the gentleman in question, Geoff Wardle, gave me some of his time to interview him on the project from his home in California. On Sunday 13 September, we are hosting a fund-raising session with community leaders in Leimert Park, which is a part of South Los Angeles, to help raise the funds we need to create a film about a compelling future of their neighbourhoods.

As part of that event, we are running an online auction to include art pieces and other items. Through our network of designers in the car and entertainment industries, we have had a number of digital copies or one-off prints donated by some of them – for instance, some original artwork on Minority Report and other Hollywood blockbusters for which our friend Harald Belker designed a lot of the vehicles and “stuff”. We are using an online auction platform/app that people can bid on, whether they attend the event or not.

I am donating one signed copy of each of my T16S/SPG sketches, and will pledge that anyone who successfully bids will have a unique copy.”

There are three different prints. Each will be on 16” x 24” paper where the bumper-to-bumper dimensions of the cars will be about 20”, which is how large the originals were. The auction runs until the 30th September and the link to register or bid is below.

This represents a truly unique opportunity to own a piece of Saab 900 memorabilia and, at the same time, help a charitable cause. I hope it’s of interest.
