As announced a long time ago, with much delay, new news from Trollhattan arrives. The conglomerate Chinese Evergrande, which is the main owner of NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden), has meant extra boost for the West Swedish car industry. Thanks to its various and scattered branches, the pace of development is greatly accelerated.

According to some announcements, already at the Geneva Salon (March 5-15), the first car will be showcased – partly developed together with the swedish super sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg.  Sounds expensive if developed together with Koenigsegg. It would be nice if NEVS could start producing some cars and be seen on the streets here in Europe.

Evergrande Group wants to become the world’s largest supplier of electric vehicles

FYI, Evergrande as a car brand does not exist, the company is one of China’s richest and is a leader in the real estate market, mainly in Guangdong Province in southern China. Evergrande as a car brand does not exist, the company is one of China’s richest and is a leader in the real estate market, mainly in Guangdong Province in southern China. Evergrande’s major owner, 62-year-old multi-billionaire Hui Ka Yan, has stated that he wants to become one of “the world’s largest suppliers of electric car transport services”.

Hui, along with his closest friends, visited several major European corner pillars in the automotive industry this fall. In addition to Nevs and Koenigsegg’s various partners, including the German Benteler Group, which together with Bosch delivers ready-made electric car platforms, so-called “skateboards”, to which car companies can then apply their own bodies and properties.

Koenigsegg intends to showcase its new car during the year, among other tests have been carried out at Saab’s former test facilities in Stallbacka north of Trollhättan. That being said, the car will be showcased in  near-completion mode in conjunction with a first world test run. But before that, the focus is on Nevs and the Evergrande group’s efforts. Already at the upcoming Geneva salon this spring comes the first electric concept car, where Nevs has played the lead role. Expect this electric car to be the official launch shot of “the new car from Trollhättan“.

NEVS 93 and L113

Nevs will radically expand its product portfolio within the next 3-4 years. By 2025, everything is planned to be launched, on a broad front. In addition to today’s electric-powered NEVS 93 and further development of this (L 113 series), the so-called HN6 series will consist of two different compact class cars plus two mid-class cars and a crossover.

The larger HN8 series will consist of two suv models, two sedan versions (one of which is extended) and MPV plus SUVmodels. The largest HN9 series line becomes a major classifier as a SUV and sedan model respectively. In addition, there are fully autonomous – self-driving – cars that are developed separately for Chinese taxi and sharing service companies.
