SAAB Sonett V4 – Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix 2015

Saab SonettSaab Sonett

This is interesting video (1080p60f) which was filmed by Stefan Vapaa at race from the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix 2015! This is the full uncut race so grab a beverage before sitting down :)

This is the Group 4 race and Stefan driving 1968 SAAB Sonett V4 (with the roof cut off). The engine is a race-prepared 1500cc V4 and was the smallest displacement engine in the race. It is fitted with a Solex 44 PII, which is giving him problems under heavy braking right turns, as you will see. It wasn’t easy and at times it definitely wasn’t pretty, but he is pretty sure it is the fastest he has been around the Schenley Park course in the 13 years he has been driving there.

Thanks to Stefan we can enjoy excellent Saab footage:
