The Norwegian Classic Saab Club (GsV) Trollstigen -senic route is delighted to invite you to INTSAAB 2015, which will take place in the Norwegian fjordscape between the 2nd and 7th of August 2015, starting in Bergen.
In 1997 there was a Saab rally which led us through Norway all the way up to the North Cape. The rally and the tour gave organizer of the inspiration to arrange a rally called “The fjords and the mountains -the western part of Norway”.
The idea is a shorter, but more adventurous and scenic rally. Organizer of this event IntSaab 2015 want to present the extreme variations in our nature and show you some fantastic attractions, which we want you to have enough time to enjoy the experience. The way they have planned the rally makes it possible, at one point, to drive from the fjord (at 0m) to 1300m. altitude -in only 20 min! This is the western Norway!
The north-western part of Norway, with its deep fjords and steep mountains, is an excellent scenario for a rally where the things you experience as you go along is more important than the destinations. Take a break to enjoy the attractions and when you stop you’ll more than likely meet other people from the rally. Your network will expand and you’ll meet new friends that share similar interests.
As your host they want you to experience the fjords and the mountains, the variations in the landscape and the nature, but also to meet the people and the culture. An adventure like this requires that the cars are safe and in good technical condition, especially the brakes. One leg of the rally has restrictions on vehicle length. Due to steep and narrow bends, vehicles over 10m are prohibited. At another leg of the rally caravans are prohibited due to narrow roads and minimal clearance for oncoming traffic. Most days of the rally we have different routes set up, all with the same destination, but one will be less challenging than the other.
There will be hotel, cabin and camping alternatives at every destination of the trip. However, the destinations will be smaller towns and villages, and they will not be able to accommodate all participants at the same location, and therefore there will be some distance between the “camps”.
At some destinations it will be a good idea to rent a cabin together with friends. If you plan to travel with your tent, toppola or caravan, you will find that accommodations for the night are easily available.
Organizer will provide the name and (web-) addresses for the accommodation possibilities at each destination at a later stage, and you will administer your own booking. Booking will be open for most places from Medio January. Gammelsaabens Venner welcomes you all to an adventurous trip through scenic Norwegian landscape.
