This was once my parents’ Saab. The name proved onomatopoetic. Its transmission (a 5-speed) is broken (so my parents say), and it’s been sitting for a long time (since the late 90s).
It was never in any major accidents (although there is a branch-induced dent on the trunk lid); the interior may be at least partially salvageable. The front bumper is somewhere. It’s on some nice alloy wheels.
I have no idea if the engine can be coaxed into working. It ran, but didn’t move, when parked.
If you’re planning to turn it into a LeMons car, you may want to replace the powertrain with something more durable (rear-wheel drive, anyone?) or attempt to restore it; it’s the B201, the fuel-injected, non-intercooled 2.0L SOHC Turbo engine that put out 143 HP. If you’re not nuts enough to get it running again, and are still going with a Saab engine, I’d recommend a B202 (which is DOHC). The engine will need to come out to get to the transmission anyway, because it is a Saab. This is simply the way it is.
If you want to tear the interior out, put a new transmission in it, and turn the boost up as far as it’ll go without exploding, it would make a hell of a track car.
Or, you could be a True Saab Person and want to restore it, in which case: more power to you, you crazy bastard.
In any case, it needs to go by the end of THIS WEEK (final deadline), or it’s going to the crusher.
(I got it a stay of execution for a while since I posted this ad, due to family issues, but I’m out of time. I’d rather see it go to a good home than get money for it.)
You will need to bring a trailer, and a winch. I’m not sure if it can be coaxed into neutral or not; skids would help. The tires may or may not be inflatable.
There is only one catch: you have to tell me what you’re planning to do with the car. If you have a plan that’ll keep it from going to the crusher, you go to the front of the line.
Once I talk to you, I’ll send you my mother’s phone number, so she can coordinate a pickup (since I’m currently elsewhere.)
