My very well loved 1999 Saab 9-5 of which I am the second owner. This car was purchased originally by a professor at RISD and basically driven to and from his apartment and the school. I bought it with 41,000 miles on it last year. It has always been meticulously maintained and needs nothing mechanically. Most of the miles I’ve put on it are long distance miles driving to and from Rhode Island, more on that later. It is a five-speed, manual gearbox and the gas mileage I’m getting is unreal. 30MPG on the highway. Its a 4 cylinder turbo (the better motor) FWD and does just fine in the snow. Cloth interior.
Here we go…
just under 55K for mileage.
Two new tires in the front with rear tires still looking great
30MPG with the 5spd manual transmission. Just to give a little perspective on this, I fill up in Blawnox off of 28 and get all the way into Rhode Island on one tank of gas.
Needs nothing mechanically
The not as good:
There is a small dent in the rear above the bumper that was there when I bought it.
The LCD screen in the center area is pixelated. It has been like that since I bought the car and has never bothered me enough to change it out.
There is something going on with the airbag warning module. I believe it is just a sensor issue as it goes on and off periodically. It has been off for months and last week it came back on.
This is a great, safe and incredibly fuel efficient car. Also a great platform for performance mods.
Please feel free to message me with any questions. Also, leave a number if you’d like a reply.
Given the condition and low mileage, I believe the price to be beyond fair so keep that in mind if you feel inclined to make an offer. I’ll hear anything fair.
